"1509-35: Career of Johannes Faust, wonder-worker and minor mage. After graduating (barely) as a Disciple of House Tytalus, Faust travels widely, boasts of great power and impresses many local rulers who seek the Philosopher's Stone that will turn lead to gold. Faust never achieves much skill and eventually resorts to diabolism, at which he fails calamitously and perishes. The Order promptly censures Faust and appoints a committee to search the Deep Umbra, retrieve and restore his tainted Avatar. (As yet, no results have been reported.) יוהנס פאוסט הוא האלטר אגו (AVATAR) של ארתור פאוסט, הוא מופיע בפני ארתור כאחד מאבות שושלת הקוסמים של ארתור.

הוא מסתיר כמובן את הזהות האמיתית שלו מארתור והיא מפיסטו (השד),

מטרתו של מפיסטו הוא לגרום לאבדן הנשמה של ארתור בדרכים מגוונות (בדומה למטרה האמיתית של מפיסטו כנגד יוהנס פאוסט במחזה פאוסט).

כרגע הדרך המרכזית של מפיסטו היא לשכנע את ארתור ללמוד להשתמש בדם ערפדים כדי להשתמש בקסם.
